2017 Products: Pre-Order Your Planners

You love freelancing, but you have a problem: it’s a real pain in the patootie to stay organized.

Client bookings, priorities for the month, making time for your own business and client work, knowing what events are when…whew. There’s so many digital tools–which are great, don’t get me wrong–but wouldn’t it be nice to have one place where you could quickly take the pulse of your business, without having to look at six different apps and two different browser tabs?

(Returning customer and ready to preorder? Click here.)

The Freelancer Planner is the only planner that gives freelancers (and other service-based business owners) one place to:

  • See where you’re at with your income goals for the month
  • See how far in the future you’re booked with client projects (no more double-booking and working 60 hour weeks to meet deadlines!)
  • Give you one place to view your priorities, tasks, and events for a given month or week at a glance
  • Train you to create better business and productivity habits

The monthly view lets you keep track of your goals for the month – both project goals and income goals. You’ll be able to break down your income by workday, so you know how much billable work you need to average each day to hit your goal. Use the notes & backburner section to keep an eye on upcoming projects, and keep track of client bookings (and your income progress, using the bar graph on the top of each day) with the calendar view, like so:

The weekly planning process helps to train you into better productivity habits, and makes sure that the most important work gets done first.

Once you’ve created your to-do list, you can map it out on the weekly pages:

And when you come to the end of the month, the monthly recap & postmortem pages help you keep an eye on important metrics, like your billable hours, hourly rate, and income, along with your progress on goals:

The Freelancer Planner was originally a successful Kickstarter campaign, with 380 backers funding to 157% of our goal. Now, a year and a half and several hundred planners later, I’m restocking the planners and expanding the line of products, and this is your chance to be the first to get the new planners.

NEW: The Freelancer Planner wall calendar

Many freelancers (myself included) have their weekly planning process on lockdown (or use digital tools for that) and don’t get as much value out of the weekly pages, but rely on the monthly pages to keep their monthly goals, upcoming projects, income goals/tracking, and client bookings straight. The Freelancer Planner wall calendar will be an 18″x24″ laminated, dry-eraseable wall calendar that you can use for this purpose, keeping your eye on the prize every month by using the same questions and layout as the monthly pages (except with a horizontal calendar):

Products will be shipping out within the first two weeks of February or sooner.

Feedback, press, & reviews:

I received my copy of The Freelancer Planner yesterday, and I spent part of NYE figuring out my schedule for the next month, it’s that exciting! Thank you so much for putting this project together. I cannot wait to get started with running a well organized writing business in 201t6. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for to help me put all of my projects, clients, personal writing goals, and financial bits in one structured place. As you can tell I’m super happy with your product. Thanks again, and happy New Year!

This clever planner could solve your freelance woes: article at CreativeBloq

“I’m not sure what else to say here other than “I love this.” Organizational tools are my weak spot. If you have a complicated process now and you’re looking to simplify, this could be a good option for you. And if you’ve never taken on weekly planning like this, The Freelancer Planner is simple, though comprehensive, enough to help you get started.”
